The passing of civil rights stalwart John Lewis should bring Non-Violence to the fore once again. His career parallels that of Bernard LaFayette, fellow Freedom Rider and Dr. King's advance man at Selma. I am reprinting my meeting with LaFayette in Memphis for Black History Month in 2018. One ’50s pioneer of the Movement was asked recently by a student: “Can Non-Violence work?” and he quickly responded “Is Violence Working?” Hmmmm...
