Wink Martindale

Winston Conrad ("Wink") Martindale looks too young to be the same disc jockey who rocketed the Christian-themed reading "Deck of Cards" to a million copies in 1959. But this is only part of the story behind one of North America's most well-known game show hosts.

Originally from Jackson and Memphis, Tennessee the genial disc jockey/host started a life-long friendship with Elvis Presley back there. Wink granted a quick interview at the Thirteenth Annual Praise Brunch for the pastor-led Media Fellowship International. He claims to have never been victimized by being a well-known believer in Hollywood.

"In the end talent wins out," he says to young Christians thinking of taking the leap into an entertainment career. It certainly did for him.
