The Carolina Panthers appearance in SuperBowl 50 made some remember all-start linebacker Reggie White from Chattanooga who played briefly for the Panthers in 2000 after a brilliant career with Philadelphia and Green Bay.
With his 198 QB sacks he was described as a "ferocious force" on the field.
Yet he got his name "Minister of Defence" from his other career as an ordained Baptist pastor, renowned for his out-spokeness in defence of traditional family values.
He died of heart trouble in 2004 after leaving behind a legacy in both fields still very much remembered.
