Hart for Hollywood

Actress Dolores Hart who played opposite Elvis Presley ("Loving You") and George Hamilton "Where the Boys Are") in the late 1950s is now prioress at the Regina Ludis Benedictine Abbey of Bethlehem, CT.

She had been a devout Catholic since age 10 but persuaded to try a movie career by one of her uncles who was a film projectionist. Her story is on Wikipeida but notable for the fact that she remained true to her faith convictions and also kept a hand in the Hollywood scene by an appearance at the 2012 Academy Awards.

Her first prioress told her she would need all the skills she learned on the set to be a successful nun. It took. Mother Dolores Hart is still a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
